If you’ve taken the plunge and invested in a high definition TV, you’re probably keen to make the most of your shiny new screen. It’s hard to believe that only a year ago, the only high definition source that was easily available was the Xbox 360, and that didn’t even make use of that lovely, digital HDMI port that was laying dormant at the back of your TV. In fact it wasn’t until May last year, when Sky launched its HD box that there was actually something to plug into your HDMI port, which is probably why there are masses of HDTVs out there with only one HDMI input. |

I’m a firm believer in surround sound for watching movies and luckily I have a wife who's understanding enough to allow me to turn our living room into a home cinema auditorium. There’s nothing quite like having the perfect setup, with the perfect listening and viewing position while you settle down for an evening of celluloid worship. But surround sound for music isn’t quite so clear cut, at least not in my humble opinion. |

It’s a reality for most of us that modern life puts increasing pressures on our time. Where once people used to sit in a pub at lunch time enjoying a liquid lunch, they now sit at their desks munching away on whatever overpriced sandwich they can find from the nearest Pret a Manger or sandwich van. Time is, as they say, of the essence and it remains the same at home. |

I briefly tried Windows Media Center Edition at home and found it to be much more hassle that it was worth. My main gripe was that I was using what was essentially a triple monitor set up – two 17in flat panels and then a TV. MCE assumes that if you have Media Center open, then that's all you're doing. So trying to watch a film while talking on MSN on your second display, and maybe checking a few web pages was nigh on impossible, as it would steal the mouse cursor, run off and refuse to give it back. |

few months ago I did a round up of Digital TV Tuners that included the Asus U3000. This was quite a cool looking , but was marred by one crucial flaw - it didn't work very well. As a result Asus UK was keen to get me to look at the My Cinema-U3000 Mini. |

My day to day MP3 player is the Sony Network Walkman NW-E507. I love this player, and I feel it was severely overlooked in the market, and too quickly replaced by Sony. However, despite its lack of media coverage, any of my friends who has seen it has instantly wanted one and a couple of them even bought one. |

The world of high end audio has stubbornly resisted the pressure of advancing technology so far. While consumers across the world have embraced digital music formats and computer audio, the industry that produces the very highest quality separates components has, like a snotty waiter in an overpriced continental restaurant, largely turned its self-opinionated nose up at the idea. |
