Okay. Now we're in for it. Saitek has released 3200dpi mouse. In case you didn't read it the first time, that's three thousand, two hundred dots per inch. That's the beefiest mouse laser we've encountered here at ExtremeTech—the runner up prize goes to the Raptor-Gaming M2, clocking in at a pathetic 2400dpi. |

Hailing from Planet Saitek, from a galaxy far, far away, comes the Obsidian Wireless Rechargeable Mouse, an ambidextrous pointing device unlike most others. Aside from its oval shape and futuristic design, the Obsidian replaces the standard scroll wheel with a small scroll wheel-sized touch pad, which allows users to perform various scrolling techniques that can't be done with a regular mouse. |

We're not used to giving Microsoft so much attention when we review input devices. Normally we reserve that for more cutting-edge companies like Logitech and Razer. Microsoft's latest line of mice, however, may just deserve this attention, especially considering that Logitech and other companies have been silent lately in terms of new mouse releases. Our ears perked up when we learned of the Habu gaming Mouse, developed in cooperation with Razer, and more recently the ergonomic Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 6000. Now we take a look at the Wireless Laser Mouse 8000, which is similar in shape to our favorite gaming mouse—the Logitech G5. |

Once upon a time, a Microsoft mouse was just a mouse—about as basic as a bar of soap with two buttons. Although these mice were common in the home, work, and your local library, they weren't too popular with enthusiasts and gamers. This changed after the company released the Habu Gaming Mouse. Developed in cooperation with niche gaming hardware maker Razer, the Habu became one of our favorite gaming mice. |

You might not have thought it, but Leonardo Da Vinci, Aristotle, Mahatmah Gandhi, Albert Einstein, Winston Churchill, Mozart and my good self have something in common. Yes, like those famous figures I am left handed and much like them, I’ve always been frustrated at the lack of a computer mouse designed specifically for our way of working. Leonardo, Albert and me have always had to look on with envy at the carefully sculpted, beautifully contoured mice that have always been available for right-handers, while us lefties have had to either put up with bland non-moulded mice or suffer contorted hands. |

Sure. There's plenty of talk surrounding global warming these days, but it's still winter over here far above the equator. And cold snaps like the one hitting much of the country lately continue to afflict commuters and others who work in chilly environments. One thing to make your computer experience more tolerable is to give your hand something warm and comfortable to rest on—say, something like a mouse that heats up to 113°F (45°C). |
